In Japan, on the table at every meal, there is usually a small dish for the purpose for holding Japanese pickles, a sweet, or even a sauce. Dishes like these are made out of tin and brass, using casting techniques that are over 400 years old. The techniques were used to making Buddhist altar fittings, and those age-old traditions are now used to create these new finds.
